God is sovereign over all creation, in dimensions too vast for man to completely comprehend. Yet He is willing to share His immeasurable Presence with us; if only we ask, and draw close to Him.
Acts 17:27-28–Paul told the Greek Council: “His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us. For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
The Lord’s Presence is overwhelming in comparison to man’s puny worldly ways and footprint. But that difference is what He wants us to perceive.
The worldly man compares everything to his self-perceived stature of status and power. But when truly compared to God’s stature, he cannot comprehend, so he does not see at all, even though God was the one who created his existence, and is standing right next to him.
James 4:8–Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
1 Timothy 6:9-10–But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
When we have our eyes opened by the Holy Spirit, we can see and experience the power, beauty and grace of God and His creation. When our eyes have been opened to the glory of the Lord’s Presence in our lives; we can share the wonders of His Presence to others around us.
Lord, thank you for being my Savior, my shepherd, and my friend. Lord, I’ve been looking for your combination of mentor, role model, confidant, and unconditional friend for so many years. But my eyes were not open to You; and my ears could barely hear the still small voice of Your Holy Spirit. But Lord, I now see the majesty of your creation; I hear you through your wonderful Holy Word; and I praise you for drawing me close to You; to save me from the fallen world I was living in for so many years.
