The Battle of the Wicked vs. the Righteous, Yesterday and Today…

As a country, we the People of America are embarking upon a great revival of our American Spirit, our Country’s Founding Principles, and our faith in a Divine Destiny.

Psalm 73 in the Old Testament defines the difference between the struggle between the wicked and the righteous: in the times of ancient Israel, and our country today. As we look at the history of the world, we see that people, governments, nations, and the world in general  continue to make the same mistakes over and over; from generation to generation. Human sinful nature never changes, only the players change over time. We are in a time where we have an opportunity to turn our country and our people away from wickedness, oppression, and division.

A revival of our faith is an important part of the total equation that equals the return to our Founding Father’s formula for success as a country, “One Nation, Under God.”

Psalm 73 was written during the time of King David 3500 years ago, but when read today, it amazingly describes our struggles against wickedness today.

”So I tried to understand why the wicked prosper . But what a difficult task it is! Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked. Truly, you put them on a slippery path and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction. In an instant they are destroyed completely swept away by terrors. When you were arise, O Lord, you will laugh at their silly ideas as a person laughs at dreams in the morning. Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside. I was so foolish and ignorant, I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you. Yet, I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven, but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart. He is mine forever. Those who desert him will perish, for you destroy those who abandon you. But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.  Psalm 73:16-28

Pray: Lord, make your way plain for me to follow today, and lead me on the right path.

Our nation is in chaos, and our Kingdom crumbles…But God is in control of the world and it’s future…

Our nation is in chaos, our governments are corrupt from top to bottom. But many citizens don’t want to do the hard work to change the path our country and church are on.

Isaiah 30:9-11 ‘ that these people are stubborn rebels, who refuse to pay attention to the Lords instructions. They tell the seers, “don’t tell us what is right. Tell us nice things. Tell us lies. Forget all this gloom. Get off your narrow path. Stop telling us about your Holy One of Israel.”

There was a reason why I was uncomfortable with the ways of the world. I seemed to be surrounded by people who, in spite of knowing the contrary, ignored the path our great country was on;  A path to the destruction of our republic. Our nation was founded on the principles of God’s ethics and his lessons for life. We have ignored our Founding Father’s principles for our country, and have become distracted by ‘ the good things in life” while not seeing the slippery slope of the deterioration of our great country. We have been deceived….. But the Lord is in control of the world and its future. Evil may create chaos, but the Lord is in control of the outcome.

Psalm 37:1-2, 12-13… “Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. The wicked plot against the godly; they snarl at them in defiance. But the Lord just laughs., for he sees their day of judgment coming. Soon the wicked will disappear. When you look for them, they will be gone. The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity.”

We are soldiers in the Lord’s Army. We must follow his orders. We must allow Him to be in control, but we also have duties to carry out for Him. We must take action along with His commands to help win the battle:

Psalm 46:11 the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us. The God of Israel is our fortress.

Psalm 37:5-7 “Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper, or fret about their wicked schemes.”

Be of good cheer! Live your very best life, and let’s make sure we all drive hard through the tape at the finish line.

Let us continue to be in thankful and hopeful prayer through these difficult times that are ahead.

My Prayer for today: Walk peacefully with the Lord, and wait for His lead…

Lord, thank you for teaching me, from the sanctuary of your loving arms, how to cope with the dangers of this broken world I live in. Lord, you have taught me that you will provide all the strength I need to deal with the world’s trials. Lord, the  trials that are in my path today are a test of my ability to rely on my faith in you; to use my dependence on you; to provide what is needed to deal with these challenges. Lord, I pray and wait for your will to guide me.

Blessed are you, Lord, My God, King of the Universe, Prince of Peace, Lord of Lords, King of Kings.

I pray all of this in the name of your Son, and my precious Savior, my Risen King, Jesus Christ. Amen
