November, a month to be truly thankful for… December, the holy month that God sent His Son to live among us..

December is the Holy Month that God sent His Son to live among us, and save us from ourselves, and give us His Peace!

”Look! the virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means  “God with us”). Isaiah 7:14

”For to us a child is born…And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

With all of the stress and strain of the past month;  which gave us much to be thankful for..December arrives, and brings with it a ray of hope for a brighter year end and a promising 2025. The Hope and Promise of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, is revealed in December… and through it, God shows us that He is committed to us with an everlasting, faithful, unfailing Love.

But, it is hard to experience that love fully in the midst of this broken world we live in. False religions, false idols, false prophets… modern man has lost the perspective of eternity, and we tend to distract ourselves with busy schedules, ceaseless activity and amusement. The practice of being still in His  Presence is almost a lost art, yet it is that stillness that enables us to experience His eternal love.

We must seek His Presence in the stillness of the morning to hear and feel His “Still Small Voice.” In the stillness of the morning seek His Spiritual and Physical Healing Mercies and His grace for the day ahead.

The ultimate protection against sinking during life’s storms is devoting time to develop a friendship with Him.

”The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness: His mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance”: therefore, I will hope in Him!” Lamentations 3:22-24

God’s Love is faithful and never ends. He gives us new mercies and grace every morning. Depend on Him, not the worldly world. Meet Him quietly every morning and wait for His comfort and companionship for the day ahead.

Let us pray:

Lord, thank you for being with me, despite my weak human sinful failings and frailties. Give me the peace and joy of your Presence, your forgiveness and grace for my many, many sins, your comfort in my distress, and your companionship in my loneliness. And Lord, help me make it through this day, moment by moment, step by step, using your strength, your patience, your wisdom, your courage, and your endurance, as I live this day with you, my constant companion, by my side. Amen
