I try everyday to ask Him for help in acting, saying, and thinking the right things, as I go out into this broken and fallen world we live in.
And Lord, as we go forward into this day, I ask that your Holy Spirit will be with me, and act in my life to help me live to:
Honor and please you, with the decisions I make, the actions I take, the words I say, and the thoughts I think… And help me to not be a people pleaser or world pleaser.
And Lord, give me the Peace and Joy of your Presence , your forgiveness and grace for my many, many sins, your comfort in my distress, and your companionship in my loneliness.
Help me make it through this day with your strength, patience, wisdom, courage, and endurance, moment by moment, step by step, as I live this day with you by my side.
May your Holy Presence and Holy Word be with me throughout this day.
A verse from Paul’s letter to the Romans helps remind me of these precious thoughts we should carry with us out into the messy and chaotic world.
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2
