Your Mind Is A Battlefield…Do You Have Weapons To Fight The Battle…And Win The War?

In this battle for control of your mind and your thought life (good vs. bad influences) you need to acknowledge your weaknesses for what they really are… your inborn human sinful nature…and ask the Lord’s Holy Spirit to join you in this deadly battle.  He can give you the strength, wisdom, and energy for the fight to keep your focus on the Lord and His ways.
Romans 8:5-6–Paul wrote to the Romans:  “Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.  So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.”

Don’t let fear slip into your thoughts…this is the evil one trying to assault your thought life.  Fear leads to worry and loss of focus on the Lord and His good plans for you.
Romans 7:21-23–Paul wrote to the Romans: “I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.  I love God’s law with all my heart.  But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.”
Fear and worry sap your energy level and can lead to fatigue and negative thoughts…which usually lead to unwise words and actions; that negatively affect you and those around you.

If fear and worry control your thought life for years, the negative mindset can lead to worldly emotions of self-pity. self-preoccupation, and straying from the Lord’s positive thinking ways and the life path He has planned for you.
Romans 7:24-25–Paul continues to the Romans:  “Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?  Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.”

So…you can see that by casting your prideful human nature to the Lord; and asking Him for help, He can bless you, and give you peace in the midst of the battle for your mind and soul.
Isaiah 12:2–See, God has come to save me.  I will trust in him and not be afraid.  The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.”

My Prayer For This Day:

Lord, thank you for calling out and defining my human sinful nature…weaknesses that had made my life, without you, miserable.  Lord, those weaknesses: fear, anxiety, and worry were brought on by living in a world of sin and not drawing upon your love and your strength…which are your weapons for this battle for my mind and soul.  Lord, I was defenseless without you.  But Lord, I thank you and I praise you for not giving up on me; and for sending your Holy Spirit, at the right time, to make me aware that you have strategies for me to use on the battlefield of my mind.

My Verse Of The  Day:

Ephesians 6:10-12–Paul writes: “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
