The Lord Blesses Us With New Blessings Every Day… The Question Is: What Do We Do With Those Wonderful Blessings During the Day???

So what do we DO with His Blessing?

We wake up every morning with a fresh sense of energy, spiritually and physically. Overnight, the Lord has provided healing mercies for our spiritual and physical bodies, ridding them of the weariness, and dullness of mind, and the aches and pains of our bodies from the previous day. What a miracle that alone is,  which we sometimes take for granted.

“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.Great is his faithfulness , his mercies begin afresh each morning.” Lamentations 3:22-23

But then…My newly freshened “wilderness mind” clicks into gear and starts feverishly “thinking” about all the stuff coming at me for the new day. That mind wants to grab a cup of coffee and run out the door to blindly attack whatever pops up first outside the front door. Before I know it, I’ve lost that “refreshed sense of peace” that the Lord has so graciously provided at my first waking moment, and replaced it (1.) with the tension and anxiety of worry about what the “Future” holds for me, and (2.) the regrets of my past that still try to hold me hostage in a time I have no control over anymore.

And then, before I know it; the day has flown by, and I’ve missed all the beauty and great opportunities for good that were right in front of me, but were overshadowed by my worries and anxieties of my Future and Past thought patterns.

The Lord provides all of us fresh spiritual and physical healing mercies every day, and he wants us to use them for living an abundant life in this present day, seeing all there is to see and doing all there is to do. He doesn’t want us to be distracted by the evil one’s fiery arrows of worries about the future and regrets for our past.

Future Worry

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring it’s own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6:34 — for the Lord will be with you, in today’s present moments, helping you through all things, big and small. And remember , he will also be with you in the Future, ready to help you then also. We always tend to worry about the future and how bad it will be, (forgetting that he will be with us then!) But how can it be that way if the Lord is going to be with you then also?

“We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer” Proverbs 16:1 “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9

Past Regrets

We all have events in our past that we regret…And we are full of “Shoulda’s-Woulda’s-Coulda’s” in our minds, trying to re-litigate something that we now have no control over. The Lord’s forgiveness and grace come into play here. By having a close personal relationship with the Lord, we can come to him with our past, our regrets, admitting our transgressions and weaknesses, and asking for his forgiveness and grace. When we turn to God in repentance , he will bear the weight of our worries and regrets. He is merciful and wants you to be free of those regrets so you may live this present day with him, without distraction. Release into his care anything that is troubling you, so you can focus your full attention on Him.

“So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for the cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7

I’ve made a little visual study guide showing the relationship between: Today, Our Unchanging Past, and our Unknown Future.Hope it helps to visualize what we put ourselves through everyday.
